The CCFW hosts two major riding events each year. In February, we have the Long John Run. This is a run of 75 to 100 miles in length. Prizes are given for the most unusual long john worn as well as for best scores and off bike games. In November, we hold the Turkey Run. A game run with different games of skill along a route of near 100 miles. Each run starts at a sponsoring motorcycle shop and ends at our clubhouse for our famous stew.
TMRA State Rally
April 9-11 was the 2010 State Rally. Five members rode to Snyder for the event. Due to scheduling problems, we each rode separately, arriving at different times on Friday. That evening they had homemade stew that was very good (maybe not quite as good as that stew we serve at our runs, but still very good). Some of us tent camped while the others moteled. Camping at the Rally takes quite a bit of patience, as there is always that person who thinks that riding through the camping area at two in the morning with his straight pipes is great fun.
Bill Carlton is here showing our patch on the "Wall Of Honor" which shows the patches of most clubs in TMRA. The Cycle Club is active with this state organization which does a lot for bikers in Texas.
Bill is one of the charter members in TMRA with membership number thirteen. Here he is giving an award to the person with the lowest number (other than Bill) who is at the event.
On Saturday, there was a merchant's tour in town or you could go on a 150 mile Poker Run. To be eligible for the bike show, you had to go on the poker run. Skip H. did the run in order to be in the bike show. Pat K., Bill C., and I did the merchant's tour.
Saturday evening, they had the awards. It turned out that Skip did well in doing the poker run because he won first place in the 1500cc Goldwing class.
There was some activity at the ceremony that might not be motorcycle related, but definitely
makes for good photo op. Don't ask me what was happening here.
Pat K. won the award for the oldest female rider that rode to the event.
The weather was much better this year and the people of Snyder were very gracious in their welcome. One warning, if you do plan on riding there, be sure to hang onto the handle bars and be ready for a very windy ride.

April 27th Tom P. and I rode to Ennis and did the bluebonnet tour. A beautiful day and since it was a Tuesday, there were not too many people doing the tour. I understand that on the weekends, it can get a bit crazy
